The Department of Wildlife and Fisheries, Office of Wildlife, does hereby update the list of threatened and endangered species in Louisiana. This Rule is hereby adopted on the day of promulgation.

Section317. Threatened and Endangered Species

  1. The secretary of the Department of Wildlife and Fisheries hereby determines that those species designated as endangered or threatened pursuant to the Federal Endangered Species Act (ESA) of 1973 (87 stat. 884, as amended; 16 U.S.C. 1531 et seq.), are designated as such by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service at 50 CFR 17.11. Based upon the above determination, said species, which are enumerated below, are deemed to be endangered or threatened species under the provisions of Louisiana Revised Statutes title 56, chapter 8, part IV.
