    NOTICE OF PROPOSED CHANGES IN THE REGULATIONS OF THE BOARD OF VETERINARY EXAMINERS

    The Board of Veterinary Examiners proposes to adopt regulation changes in Title 12, Chapter 68 of the Alaska Administrative Code, dealing with approved continuing education programs, scope of practice, licensing requirements, and prescription labeling, including the following:

    1. 12 AAC 68.230, Approved continuing education programs, is proposed to be changed to alter the continuing education programs approved by the board.

    2. 12 AAC 68.300, Veterinary technician scope of practice, is proposed to be changed to alter the provisions related to veterinary technician scope of practice.

    3. 12 AAC 68.310, Veterinary technician licensing requirements, is proposed to be changed to alter the licensure requirements for veterinary technician.

    4. 12 AAC 68.900, Prescription labeling, is proposed to be changed to alter the provisions related to prescription labeling by a veterinarian.

    You may comment on the proposed regulation changes, including the potential costs to private persons of complying with the proposed changes, by submitting written comments by mail, fax, or e-mail to:

    After the public comment period ends, the Board of Veterinary Examiners will either adopt these or other provisions dealing with the same subject, without further notice, or decide to take no action on them. The language of the final regulations may be different from that of the proposed regulations. YOU SHOULD COMMENT DURING THE TIME ALLOWED IF YOUR INTERESTS COULD BE AFFECTED. Written comments received are public records and are subject to public inspection.
